U.S. law requires companies to employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States – either U.S. citizens, or foreign citizens who have the necessary authorization. This diverse workforce contributes greatly to the vibrancy and strength of our economy, but that same strength also attracts unauthorized employment.

E-Verify is an Internet-based system that allows businesses to determine the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. E-Verify is fast, free and easy to use – and it’s the best way employers can ensure a legal workforce.

Everyone with a business license and who has employees must register with E-Verify.

You must come to the Building and Zoning office of Troup County at 100 Ridley Avenue Room 1300 LaGrange, Georgia 30240 to present a secure and verifiable document and you must also provide a notarized Private Employer Affidavit, that verifies your employee citizenship status per Georgia law O.C.G.A. § 36-60-6(d).

The following application forms are available for your convenience. If you have any questions about these forms or the E-Verify process, please call +706 883 1650 for more information.
